A ‘non-techies’ journey to ed-tech

I had the pleasure of catching up with Claudine, Lawyer and Founder of CareerEar. CareerEar uses technology to support emerging talent (young people and adults) to access careers through content sharing. It was originally born out of The Student Development Co, a non-profit organisation which aimed to provide career related support and advice to 16–24 year olds, but has transitioned into its own powerhouse within the ‘edtech’ space’. ‘Edtech’ is education related services powered by technology. Asides from helping individuals, CareerEar has also worked with corporations such as Accenture, Sky and 02 on a range of talent related matters.
There’s a trend to the non-techies featured so far…we’ve all studied Law! Claudine started, and continues, her career in law, starting as a qualified Property Litigation solicitor and more recently as in house counsel. She has an impressive long list of awards, (just google her and they’ll come up), from being recognised in the Top 10 in the Social Entrepreneur Index to #1 Future Leader on the EMpower Financial Times list. She’s results and impact driven, not only has she contributed to helping young people access the careers they once hoped for, but also an active contributor to the World Economic Forum’s Global Shaper community.
